10.04.2009 --- CORINE 2006 Data Accepted by EEA

The CLC 2006 data has been through final validation and has been officially accepted by the European Environment Agency (EEA) as conforming to all technical quality standards. Ireland is the 22^nd country to complete CORINE for 2006. All data enquiries should be directed to the EPA www.epa.ie

26.02.2009 --- CORINE LAND COVER (CLC) 2006

CLC 2006 has been completed by ERA-Maptec. This was delivered to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who have in turn submitted the datasets to the European Environment Agency (EEA) for final validation.

01.01.2009 --- ERA-Maptec awarded  ESA contract 

ERA-Maptec has been awarded a contract from the European Space Agency (ESA) to use earth observation for monitoring waste. The contract will run for 18 months. The project, in association with Canadian consultant engineers, EBA and Italian remote sensing specialists Planetek, will develop products and services for monitoring landfill sites, both legal and illegal, based on feature recognition from high resolution optical and SAR imagery as well as surface deformation monitoring using SAR interferometry.
